Motivation

I've been writing and rewriting the same story, going on three years off and on. And because of that fact, I'm finding it boring and lacking motivation to finish it, even though my goal is to do so by the end of the year.  Any advice to somehow say, "I know it's boring to me cause I've been writing the same thing forever, but I want to finish it by December 31st" and actually do so?
